This article assesses the tourist-recreational potential, low potential investment projects in the field of tourism in the Western Arctic region of Russia. The emphasis is put on research of tourism development in the Terskiy district of the Murmansk region, Solovetskiye islands, and Murmansk. The most promising types of tourism are identified, among which the sea Arctic tourism has a leading role.
