The article discusses sectoral and regional specificities of using investments and innovations furthering strengthening the process of public production intensification in the North zone of the Russian Federation. The specificities of using investments and innovations of intensive type in the mining and fishing industries being specialization industries of the Murmansk region and of a number of other northern regions of the country are considered primarily.
