The analysis of mutual relations of the USA and EU in the modern world

The end oppositions in Europe, disintegration of the USSR and world socialist system in the end of 1980 - the beginning of 1990th have led to cardinal transformation of the European and global systems of safety. Against these changes the Atlantic world has entered the new and unpredictable period of the development in which obvious processes of multilateral dialogue between the USA and the European NATO member states and the European Union were accompanied by not less appreciable transatlantic disagreements on the widest spectrum that, beginning from the major problems of the international safety and finishing ecology and trade questions. In the list of the questions defining development of the American-European relations, not last place is occupied with a problem «versatility / unilateral ties» both in narrow sphere of a defensive policy, and in wider context of strategic stability in the world.
