The paper suggests a regional policy of Russia, the definition of the priorities of. Lists the components of regional economic policy, its goals and objectives, instruments and means to achieve them. The reasons of the uneven development of regions and socio-economic regional differentiation. We give the classification of types of regions of Russia in terms of their socio-economic development.
