In article the toolkit of an estimation of financial maintenance of military safety of Russia is considered. Use of the offered system of indicators has allowed to establish on materials of the open press that in the end of XX - the beginning of XXI centuries level of the given maintenance has strongly decreased in our country. The basic theoretical errors connected with an estimation of influence of military expenses on rates and quality of economic development of the state are analyzed and denied.
