According to the WEF index of competitiveness, in 2007, Russia was the 58th of 131 listed countries. Real and effective participation in the regional integration processes have huge potential for higher competitive ability of Russia. The article target is to perform systematic and complex analysis of the potential problems and prospects of the Russia's participation in the regional integration processes and to study their influence on the competitive ability of the Russian economy.
