The concept of national innovational systems (NIS) became by the end of 20th century on of the major research lines in economy, became wide spread, and the influence of such studies is consistently increasing. Conclusions made using the NIS concept are accepted and implemented by the governments of most developed and several developing countries. The article analyses different ways of research and methodological approaches related to the NIS concept development.
