GLONASS - a priority project of Russia’s rocket and space industry

For the purposes of Russia remaining the world’s space power all procedures have been prioritized under the auspices of the Government of the Russian Federation. The goals sought can only be achieved on condition of sustainable financing of promising space projects. The most important development mechanism is purpose-oriented comprehensive programs with federal status, particularly Federal purpose-oriented program “Global navigation system” (2002-2011) (GLONASS).
