Russian federalism model: current condition and future development

The article analyses the legal foundation of federal relations regulation in today’s Russia and their development tendencies in the medium term. A benchmarking study of the federal form of government in Russia and in some other states (USA, Canada, Federal Republic of Germany, etc.) was made. The authors draw a conclusion on the timeliness and the necessity of the respective reform introduced nowadays, as well as the importance of its continuation for the benefit of the territorial integrity and human rights and freedoms protection.
