Production sharing agreements are used all over the world including Russia when exploring, developing and exploiting raw hydrocarbon fields located under specific conditions and thus marked by high costs. No widespread application of the said mechanism has been found in the Russian Federation yet, though the respective law was passed more than 10 years ago. The authors believe that the coming years will increase the need thereof.
