Importance Currently, the Russian institute of standardization passes through a new phase, i.e. it settles down on the basis of accumulated experience and international trends in standardization, certification and compliance. The process needs to be scientifically tempered and evaluated in order to identify phenomenological and immanent features of standardization as a process of setting up and applying standards, rules and characteristics in relation to multiple targets.
Methods To address the issues, I used methods for examining systems, comparative analysis, analogy method. The research studies contemporary economic literature and uses the structural analysis method.
Results I identified that the Russian Federation observed a change in standardization paradigms. Combining the selected features of a new information concept, I formulated a paradigm model and defined standardization as synthetic science embracing various aspects. Having analyzed a new phase of its development, I found opportunities to standardize new targets and aspects.
Conclusions and Relevance The development of the Russian institute of standardization and its shift to the new paradigm open considerable opportunities for typifying economic analysis, increasing its quality, notwithstanding a specific areas where results of research are applied.
