Objectives We identify key trends in the Russian tourism and influencing factors, and propose what should be done to further promote domestic tourist destinations.
Methods The research relies upon general scientific methods that provide an entire view of the issue and its separate aspects over time.
Results We found reasons why the Russian tourist market refocused on domestic destinations, substantiated the need to develop inbound tourism and indicated available resources and prospects.
