Importance Currently, the telecommunications sector has its specific operations, leaving a lot of room for further researches. The article focuses on the telephone communication market of Russia and factors driving the development of mobile service providers and the telecommunications market as a whole.
Objectives The research identifies, analyzes and evaluates the extent to which the factors influence MICEX Telecom Index and the prospect of the market as a whole.
Methods We evaluate and substantiate the most substantial and fundamental factors, which can influence the sector development, using econometric methods. The research also relies upon general scientific methods, i.e. analysis, synthesis, deduction and modeling.
Results The model proves that fundamental corporate qualities are important and significant to take investment decisions, especially during the crisis and uncertainty. MICEX Telecom Index can provide 70% forecast. We also prove telecommunication companies should innovate and invest for their further dynamic growth. The research determines the significance of financing structure and value, and provides recommendations for the sectoral development at the corporate and national levels.
Relevance The findings can be used to substantiate and make investment decisions within and beyond of the corporate environment.
