Importance The existence and volume of financial capabilities help the entity take a certain position among other businesses in the industry, market and in terms of capital. Hence, there is scientific and practical interest to evaluate corporate financial capabilities in the contemporary economic circumstances. Objectives The research provides the rationale for an algorithm to substantiate financial capabilities of entities. Methods Researches rely upon synthesis of theories of public sciences, theory of corporate systems and theory of corporate finance. Drawing a systems approach, financial capabilities are regarded as the potential of the corporate financial system. Results The research reveals the economic substance of corporate financial capabilities; defines it; devises new algorithms to determine corporate financial capabilities, which, if used in practice and researches, allow for analysis, evaluation and identification of the priority among factors of corporate financial capabilities management. Conclusions and Relevance Financial capabilities assessment algorithms, including financial potential management factors, arrange for effective and scientifically proven management of corporate finance, development of economically beneficial financial relationships with counterparties. The findings are intended for scholars and practitioners specializing in corporate economics and finance. Guidelines for financial capabilities assessment will be helpful for capital market actors so to assess the solvent demand of the real sector for paid sources of funds.
