Importance The legislation of many countries encourages endowments, which represent a source of income for the non-profit sector. This activity is one of the most effective and smooth business processes in corporate social responsibility. Objectives The research reviews how endowment may evolve in Russia, and endowment-generated income may be formed and used as a long-standing and additional driver of corporate growth. The research also analyzes banks’ involvement in its formation. Methods The research is based on methods of comparative analysis and systematization. Results The research will enhance the efficiency of endowment funds in Russia. Conclusions and Relevance Endowment fund should not be regarded as a versatile tool to address all possible issues of the non-profit sector at once. This tool pursues financing special-purpose and strategic projects, which tend to the format of public private partnership. It is necessary to identify and coordinate common and individuals interests. Then the private business will understand their potential benefits from endowment funds of non-profit organizations.
