Organizational mechanisms for managing the quality of lending services in banks

Importance Whereas regulators pay more attention to banks' lending policies and banks are concurrently vying for reliable and creditworthy borrowers, banks have to create a mechanism for managing the quality of their loan facilities. The mechanism would combine and correlate parties' interests as much as possible and ensure the long-standing financial stability. The mechanism is indispensable without an organizational structure that would lay the basis for cooperation and determine the specifics of subordination of banks' units within strategic and tactic management of the quality of lending services.
     Objectives The research analyzes various types of organizational management structures in reference to the quality management in credit institutions. It also indentifies factors that form the specifics of banks' organizational structures designated to manage the quality of lending services.
     Methods Using the dialectical method and systems approach, I deliver a comprehensive classification of organizational structures used to manage the bank and determine those that are best compliant with management purposes and goals.
     Results I figure out the specifics of managing the quality of lending services, considering the organizational structure existing in the bank. I also point out the difference in the procedure for managing the quality of lending services at various tiers of the bank's structure. As I find out, the scope of banking services, consolidation trends in the sector and the special role of banks in economy influence organizational mechanisms for managing the quality of lending services.
     Conclusions and Relevance If banks form an organizational structure that would meet the purposes of managing the quality of lending services and consider the combination of existing factors, they will gain considerable competitive advantages and ensure their stability and reliability in the long run.
