Importance Under modern conditions of increasing uncertainty of external environment, it is necessary and relevant to further develop the theory and practice of sustainability management of enterprise functioning and development.
Objectives The objective of this work is to search for ways to ensure reliable prediction of possible loss of stability of enterprise functioning based on the analysis of the minimum required set of diagnostic parameters.
Methods In this paper, we used the methodology based on the information approach to building criteria dependences to detect critical situations.
Results We consider the problem of estimating the information content of the parameters of external and internal environment of an enterprise. We propose building criteria dependences to forecast crisis situations with a possibility of prompt correction of these dependences on the basis of the parametric self-learning principles. We take into account that individual parameters are of secondary nature, and other more important parameters influence their formation. The study shows that there is limiting quantity of parameters, under which sufficient information content of criteria dependences is provided. It is possible to consider these parameters as a minimum required set for reliable prediction of sustainability loss. We give a numerical example to determine such parameters. We also discuss approaches to building diagnostic systems of industrial enterprise functioning on the basis of combining expert and neural network models and factor analysis.
Practical Application The results may serve as a tool to diagnose an enterprise's condition.
Conclusions and Relevance The results of the study open prospects for implementing principles of preventive diagnostics in the field of enterprise sustainability management, when using a minimum set of diagnostic parameters it is possible to reveal trends towards loss of enterprise's sustainability long before the actual loss of stability occurs. This enables to take appropriate measures to eliminate negative developments.
