The development of internal financial controls, predefined by the current complicating of all business forms, the proliferation of new trends in the financial management of commercial organizations and the expansion of the general-methodology apparatus of economic theory, is inextricably linked to the need to clarify two of the assumptions of science regarding internal financial control, i.e. the subject and method. The article highlights this particular issue.
