The article points out the necessity of legislative improvement of the Russian life insurance system. An issue of defining of life insurance policy specifics in this area has become more urgent. From a perspective of the real situation, the authors consider the various policies specifics in this direction, which were undertaken during the last year. The article identifies the most efficient ways of development and legislative regulation issues and conducts review of the most important challenges in this business. The authors make a conclusion that in the Russian economic realities, life insurance policy advances in the right direction, but it does not address many important instances of this business.
