Classification of emotions: categorical and dimensional approaches

In the article the main approaches to the identification of the structure of emotional space, which is relevant for modern studies of emotions, are analyzed. The basic statements of the dimensional approach and the basic emotions approach are presented. The possibilities and limitations of the approaches from the point of view of the problems of classification and measurement of emotional states are discussed.
