"Impossible trinity" of monetary policy in context of financial globalization

The problems connected with the choice of monetary policy adequate to economic situation are discussed in the article. The advantages and disadvantages of the different exchange rate regimes, free capital mobility and the independence of monetary policy are determined. It is concluded that the choice of monetary policy in the context of globalization is limited between alternatives: of the stability of the exchange rate and the independence of monetary policy.
