The main tendencies of the oil market over the last several years are analyze in the article. The explosive growth in crude oil prices during 2007 – the first half of 2008 was caused by speculations the current drop is not a temporary relief in the course of commodities super-cycle which can exist for a long time. Their ability to keep stable development of world economy becomes the basic principle of pricing for oil.
