In the article questions of the incapacity of domestic banking system to fulfill the functions of investment donor are actualized. Are determined the reasons for this situation, which consist of the insufficient investment-credit potential of banks. Is proposed the model of the steady development of the investment-credit potential, realization of which is possible with the condition of increasing the capitalization of Russian banks.
