Pension systems of Europe and Central Asia during financial crisis

Sustainable financial condition of pension system is one of the foreground tasks for European and Central Asian countries. International financial crisis growing into economic one revealed vulnerable spots in retirement insurance, such as low efficiency and high risk of investment portfolio, poor tariff policy, increasing budgeted deficit of the pension fund. Counter measures taken by the countries aimed at bringing down the negative consequences of the crisis are analyzed in the paper. Guidelines for short-term and medium-term periods are given.
