In the context of globalization and increasing competition the urgent task for the regional forest complex is to enhance its competitiveness. The article describes the composition and level of competitive advantages of the forest complex in the Vologda region. Based on the analysis the way to improve the competitiveness of the forestry complex by stimulating innovation and the formation of cluster structures is offered.
