In connection with the crisis in economy of Russia the problem of financing of innovative activity which is a powerful impulse of social and economic development, and helps overcoming of economic depression, gets recently the big urgency. In the present work by means of the comparative analysis the condition and value of innovative activity in Russia and abroad is estimated, the factors limiting innovative activity are defined, also problems and directions of improvement of financing of innovative activity in Russia are generalized.
     One of the conclusions is drawn on that, for today conditions for financing of innovative activity are not created in the country, despite existing ways of financial maintenance.
