The contemporary downturn drastically differs from any classical knowledge. Therefore it would be not so easy to get over it using traditional means. Western governments have injected about $450 billion of capital overall. Yet the price of saving finance has been to create a system that is more vulnerable and more dangerous than ever before. Ambivalent nature of the financial innovations is scrutinized.
