Subject. Competitiveness of industrial sectors of the Russian Federation. Objectives. Determination of the level of competitiveness of industrial sectors of the Russian Federation based on the aggregation of key quantitative and qualitative indicators. The formation of an integral index of competitiveness of industries and fields of activity, reflecting the level of their economic performance, production potential and innovation activity, as well as the assessment and ranking of industries in the Russian Federation based on the proposed competitiveness index. Methods. General scientific principles and methods of economic and statistical analysis are used, including abstraction and a systematic approach, comparative analysis, and grouping. The information basis of the study was the official statistical data of the Rosstat. Quantitative indicators covering economic performance, production capabilities, and innovation potential of industries were used as initial variables. To ensure comparability of heterogeneous indicators, linear normalization was used, which forms the basis for calculating the integral competitiveness index. Results. It has been established that the most competitive industries are those with significant production and export potential, as well as sustainable financial performance. The average level of competitiveness was demonstrated by industries with stable production volumes and moderate innovation activity. Industries with low profitability, limited exports, and insufficient investment proved to be the least competitive. Conclusions. The study confirmed that the level of competitiveness of industries is determined by a combination of factors such as the scale of production, financial results, innovation activity and foreign economic orientation.
