Subject. Provision of transport infrastructure for agricultural production. Objectives. To quantify the transport effects affecting the dynamics of agricultural production and to form recommendations based on them for improving the state agrarian policy. Methods. Statistical data for 85 regions of Russia for 2020–2022 were used as an empirical basis. Spatial regression models have been selected as tools for assessing transport effects. Spatial lag models (SAR) have been developed to determine global effects, while models with spatial lags of explanatory variables (SLX) have been developed for local effects. Results. Global effects are determined by the specialization of the region and the concentration of agricultural producers on its territory, local effects depend on the quality of the road surface and the density of highways and railways. The provision of digital platforms and services that optimize route planning and simplify logistics operations helps strengthen regional cooperation in the agricultural sector and has a positive impact on agricultural production. Priority regions with resource potential for agro-industrial complex development have been identified. These include entities with a high share of agriculture in the GRP structure and a dense network of highways, on the territory of which rural settlements are located that are not connected by paved roads to the public road network, and therefore, in the future, have the opportunity to form transport and logistics hubs. Conclusions. For the regions of Russia, the opportunities for increasing the efficiency of the agro-industrial complex are associated with the formation of logistics channels that can become integral parts of the strategically important North-South transport corridor.
