Subject. Managerial, organizational, and technological problems of introducing artificial intelligence technologies into the procurement activities of a commercial organization. Objectives. Identification of the key risks of introducing artificial intelligence into procurement, namely, into the supplier selection process; identification of the causes of errors in the operation of algorithms and formulation of conditions under which artificial intelligence technologies can increase the efficiency of procurement activities, ensuring transparency and validity of decisions. Methods. The methods of system analysis, structural and functional approach and comparative analysis are applied. The results of domestic scientific papers on digital transformation, supplier management and the development of intelligent counterparty assessment models are used. The empirical part is based on an analysis of more than 150 real procurement procedures of a large IT organization in the banking sector, which compared the decisions of procurement specialists and those of a generative language model operating in an isolated corporate environment. Results. It was found that the coincidence of artificial intelligence and human solutions is about 75%, while 25% of procedures are accompanied by errors. Typical causes of errors have been identified, including the weak structuring of commercial proposals, the complexity of technical tasks, and the lack of a unified information field. The potential amount of financial losses resulting from incorrect supplier selection has been identified. Conclusions. The effectiveness of the use of artificial intelligence in procurement is determined by the quality of data, the level of digital maturity of the organization and the degree of formalization of procurement processes. Artificial intelligence technologies can be considered as a tool for improving the quality of management decisions only if information systems are integrated, the procurement function is standardized, and a specialist participates in the process of evaluating proposals in a controlled manner.
