Methods of effective requirements collection in business analysis

Subject. Methodological tools for analytical work with requirements as a priority area of business analysis.
Objectives. To investigate the content and features of the main methods of collecting requirements as a process of forming relevant and valuable information regarding projects to implement changes in business, as well as the potential of their application in business analysis and the impact on the results of analytical justification of management decisions.
Methods. Methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization are applied.
Results. In the context of the study of the methods of collecting requirements that are most in demand in modern business analysis practice, their main content and key features are revealed, their advantages, limitations and disadvantages are revealed. The most important techniques for collecting requirements are considered, providing for both individual analytical work of a business analyst and collective methods with the participation of stakeholders implemented in alternative formats. Their combination and the use of digital tools are identified as necessary conditions for ensuring the effectiveness of requirements collection.
Conclusions. In a wide range of business analysis tasks, identifying requirements is of key importance and involves the use of special data collection and processing methods. Effective requirements collection has a positive impact on the decisions being developed to implement changes, allows you to develop products, optimize strategies and ensure stakeholder satisfaction, leading the organization to its goals.
