Subject. The article addresses the impact of structural shifts in the distribution of investments by type of economic activity on investment activity in the Arctic regions.
Objectives. The focus is on improvement of methodological tools for assessing investment activity in the economy of the Arctic regions based on the introduction of a structural indicator.
Methods. The study employs methods of structural shifts in combination with statistical methods for assessing the dynamics and structure of investments in the context of Arctic regions and types of economic activity.
Results. I developed methodological tools for comprehensive assessment of investment activity, considering the volume, dynamic, and structural aspects. Application of the structural indicator in calculating the integral indicator of investment activity increases the objectivity of assessment of the real investment situation in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
Conclusions. The results of the study can be used as an information basis to develop an effective regional investment policy aimed at overcoming the limitations of investment growth in the Arctic regions.
