Subject. The article investigates the robotization level of the industry in the Russian Federation. Objectives. The purpose is to analyze the distribution of robotic complexes by region and industry, identify key trends and automation problems, compare with the indicators of the European Union countries. Methods. The study employs methods of statistical and comparative analysis, and forecasting. Results. The paper unveiled the concentration of robotics in the Central, Volga and North-Western Federal Districts (81.3% of the robot fleet). Russia is ahead of the European Union in terms of the share of enterprises using robots (19% versus 16.3%), but lags behind in terms of implementation intensity in high-tech industries. The findings of the study are significant for the development of industrial automation strategies and government support for robotics. Conclusions. Regional support programs are needed to encourage the introduction of robots into high-tech industries and develop a unified government strategy for robotics.
