Subject. The article discusses stages of digital maturity in the modernization of water transport.
Objectives. The focus is on the identification of key factors and strategy contributing to the integration of digital technologies into the management and operation of water transport systems, exploration of current trends, the impact of digitalization on production and economic indicators, and successful examples from the practice of water transport management.
Methods. We reviewed scientific papers on the research topic, analyzed data on the digitalization of water transport, and conducted an expert assessment of industry leaders.
Results. The paper presents an overview of digital maturity stages in the modernization of water transport, recommendations for successful implementation of digital solutions in this area. Based on practical examples of successful application of digital solutions in innovative activities, practical recommendations are provided on the sequence of increasing the digital maturity of "smart" activities in water transport. We formulated recommendations for business entities seeking sustainable development in the context of total digitalization.
