Subject. This article deals with the issues of determining the performance of Russia's technology innovative special economic zones (Technology Innovative SEZ).
Objectives. The article aims to develop a system of indicators for assessing the operational performance of technology development zones.
Methods. For the study, we used the methods of systems, comparative, and economic analyses.
Results. The article presents a system of indicators to determine the effectiveness of the technology innovative zones, which is related to the division of their life cycle into two stages, i.e. competition and operation.
Conclusions. Assessing the effectiveness of the technology innovative zones from the perspective of the results of their residents' activities sets the task of finding ways to assess the effectiveness of innovation activities of the entire economic entity.
