Subject At present, the SWOT analysis is one of the most popular types of managerial analysis in operational and strategic management of agricultural organizations. It enables to identify and structure the strengths and weaknesses of the enterprise, as well as potential opportunities and threats.
Objectives The aim of the study is to perform a SWOT analysis, using the agricultural enterprise OOO Sevastopol'skii case, to assess the competitiveness of the organization and identify strategic directions for agricultural industry development.
Methods The study employs the systems approach and methods of observation, comparison, description, measurement, formalization, analysis, synthesis, and generalization.
Results We applied the fundamental principles of SWOT analysis in the strategic diagnostics of the agricultural enterprise environment in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. We tested the quantitative method of analyzing the operations of the basic enterprise in the agricultural sector, developed a matrix to assess the interaction of SWOT analysis factors. The paper presents recommendations for maximizing the strengths and opportunities of the organization and offers compensating measures to eliminate weaknesses and minimize external threats.
Conclusions The systematized matrix of SWOT analysis with indication of external and internal factors that have a direct impact on the company performance helps formulate a list of priority measures the company should initiate to improve its management system.
