Assessing the current status and trends in farming development in the Orel oblast under innovative agriculture formation

Importance The article addresses urgent issues of farming in the Orel oblast under State support to its development. Farms are considered as full participants of the agricultural product market.
Objectives The purpose of the study is to unveil trends in farming development in the Orel oblast based on the assessment of their current condition under innovative agriculture formation.
Methods Methodological tools include mathematical methods of statistical data processing, namely, time series analysis, method of linear regression and trend line construction in Excel. Regulations on State support to small businesses serve as information base of the research.
Results The paper reveals trends in adaptation of farms to changing economic conditions of innovative agriculture, identifies interdependence of rates of subsidy growth and cost parameters of agricultural output.
Conclusions and Relevance State support to farming is extremely significant. These measures will foster the development of innovative component in farming, modernization of fixed assets, introduction of modern resource-saving technologies, create a favorable economic environment for farming development, and provide for growth of domestic agricultural output.
