A business-oriented divisional model of grain products sub-complex: A methodological context

Importance The article considers the agro-industrial complex of Russia and grain products sub-complex being its leading sector. There is an objective need to improve methodological approaches to assessing the sub-complex development, taking into account modern requirements and principles of achieving targets.
Objectives The aim is to develop a methodology for a factor study of determinate and structural components of grain products sub-complex effective performance based on a business-oriented divisional model of economic interaction between its participants.
Methods The study rests on the systems approach, general scientific methods of knowledge, techniques of determinate factor monitoring.
Results The paper presents a business-oriented divisional model of grain products sub-complex as a new area of optimization of economic interaction between industries and organizations; a conceptual approach to systematization of performance indicators according to the model of gross national product movement in the context of four phases of the reproduction process (production, distribution, exchange, consumption); and results of testing the developed methodology.
Conclusions and Relevance The proposed methodology to study the relationship between performance indicators and factors determining its value within a grain products sub-complex may be recommended for practical use in other product verticals of agricultural sector.
