Subject The article describes our own approach and methodological tools to measure the sustainable development of industrial enterprises. Methods The proposed combination of static and dynamic approach significantly expands the methodology for evaluation, enables deeper underpinning the pattern of management decisions on sustainable development of industrial enterprises. Results The article presents the results of testing our methodological tools on the case study of three Perm-based industrial enterprises. We calculated individual indicators of sustainable development in economic, environmental and social spheres, defined their static specific values, and then, in dynamics, calculated the rate of change and built dynamic normals. We also calculated group static and dynamic indicators for each area and integrated static and dynamic indices. Combining the static and dynamic evaluations enabled to display the pattern of each company’s position in the matrix of complex evaluation of the level of sustainable development of industrial enterprise. Conclusions The research shows that the positions of analyzed companies are concentrated in the quadrant of the matrix, which is characterized by a balanced rate over time. It also reveals discrepancies between the actual values of indicators and their normative (or recommended) static values. To overcome the situation, management decisions should focus on improving the indicator values to bring them to the specified level, and simultaneously maintain the balanced rate of the indicators over time. We propose a number of practical recommendations for each investigated company.
