A role of energy management in managing the processes at industrial enterprises

Importance Production efficiency is closely connected with energy supply. It is important to search for ways to reduce energy consumption at the expense of existing capacity and flexible control over production parameters. One of the major problems here is the lack of clear energy consumption standards at enterprises. The article addresses the issue of increasing the energy efficiency of the enterprise through management.
Objectives The study aims to increase the energy performance by introduction of energy conservation standards and transition to energy management.
Methods Using analytical methods, I consider the basic problems of energy demand at industrial facilities. The paper includes a comparative analysis of the Russian approach and foreign experience in implementing the ISO 50001 standard.
Results The findings show the basic difference in energy rationing. They prove a need for improving the energy efficiency by means of developing the uniform energy standards.
Conclusions and Relevance The study reveals direct relationships between energy efficiency and accurate calculation of specific power requirements, and offers a solution to the problem through the introduction of energy management system at enterprises.
