Subject The article presents a simplified economic-psychological model of human society, associated with ergonomic support to creation and operation of systems, products and technologies.
Objectives The aim is to determine possible sources of savings related to increased labor productivity, reduced accidents and disasters, improved prestige and safety of labor, and a decrease in financial resources and time for personnel selection and training based on the implementation of ergonomic requirements while developing and operating human-machine systems.
Methods Using scientific methods of empirical generalization, analysis of statutory documents on ergonomic human-oriented design and ergonomic classification, we assessed the impact of ergonomic requirements implementation on the cost-effectiveness of human-machine systems.
Results The findings show the need for empirical and statistical verification of quantitative estimation of the impact of ergonomic requirements on the economic effect of human-machine systems. We performed an expert evaluation of diverse capital expenditure for introducing the system of ergonomic support to development and operation of man-machine complexes.
Conclusions In the ergonomic support to development and operation of human-machine complexes, the leading role belongs to the man-oriented approach, which is associated with creation of a methodology of analysis and synthesis of the activities as an integrated system. The economic effect from the implementation of ergonomic support to systems, products and technologies consists of cost saving by various items of human-machine system utilization and earnings growth through improving the system's quality, safety and competitiveness.
