Importance The article considers the green economy priorities in Turkmenistan, principles of ecological factors, the strategy of green economy in environmental protection, and their implementation.
Objectives The study aims at defining the green economy principles and the areas of energy preservation. The focus is on solving energy, economic, ecological, and social problems to implement government programs for sustainable development.
Methods I employed mathematical modeling and economic methods to analyze various aspects of investment activity in regions and to determine the most effective systems of renewed energy sources in managing investment activity at the level of regions and ecological business priorities.
Results I offer a technique to forecast greenhouse gas emissions using a territorial and production model of the country's Fuel & Energy Complex optimization. The technique enables to identify efficient directions of scientific and technical progress in energy generation, transformation and use, and to assess the consequences for the environment; to define the structure and size of possible actions for structural reorganization of the power industry to diminish negative impact of greenhouse gases on the environment and to estimate the behavior pattern of emissions in the power industry.
Conclusions Energy efficiency and renewable energy may enhance the energy security while reducing pollution.

Keywords: renewable energy sources, green economy, ecology, power saving, Turkmenistan
