Importance The complexity of the development and adoption of administrative and economic decisions justifies the creation and use of decision support systems. The content of the main methodological aspects of the establishment and functioning of the systems define possible applications of such systems, and this determines the relevance of research.
Objectives We aimed to substantiate the choice of major methodological aspects of the establishment and operation of decision support systems, as well as disclose their possible content indicating the diversity of such systems.
Methods To identify the main methodological aspects of the establishment and operation of decision support systems and describe the possible content of each of them affecting the specifics, the border and the possibilities of a decision support system, we used the methods of logical and system analyses.
Results The result of the study is a dedicated list of methodological aspects of the establishment and operation of decision support systems, as well as the possible content of each of these aspects. The content of the methodological aspects of a particular decision-support system creation determines its specificity, border, and possibilities. This includes a possible outcome of decision support systems, the methodological information coverage of the decision support system, the decision support system's structure, and a variant of solutions within the system.
Conclusions and Relevance When creating a specific decision-support system, one should consider the possible content of each particular methodological aspect, which corresponds to the objective of creating this particular system.

Keywords: decision support system, methodological aspects, creation, possible results, operation, coverage, methodological information, structure, variant, generating solutions
