Importance Contrary to the wide discussion on the issue of the disparity of intraregional development of a region, the link between such phenomena as development disparity and economic growth still stays poorly covered. This particular aspect is the subject of the present research, and it determined its relevance. Objectives We are studying the relationship of development disparity and economic growth at the level of region municipal formations. Using a correlation and regression analysis, we carried out a study of the reproductive mechanisms of municipalities and calculated coefficients of elasticity to quantify the magnitude of the response of resulting signs to the change of reproduction factors. Results The basic assumption is that the resources (factors of reproduction) get concentrated where there is a higher impact, therefore, in these municipalities there has been rapid economic growth exceeding the growth rate in other municipalities, what the major cause of heterogeneity is. The theoretical positions have been confirmed by studies of applied character. As part of the study, we have identified the features of economic development typical of the Republic of Buryatia municipalities and expressed as non-linear dependencies between indicators and as the availability of delayed effects. Conclusions and Relevance The differences in the response of the resulting attributes to the change of production factors in the municipalities of the Republic of Buryatia may become the causes of intraregional development irregularity.
