The relevance of the article bases on the fact that the use of management practices by enterprise management, which are aimed at achieving good financial results, often has the negative effect on employees. One of its forms is employment precarization, which is growing in scale and is directly related to precarious work. Despite several restrictions on the use of precarious work imposed in Russia, this type of employment still remains widespread, and numerous problems of the workers are still unresolved. It is necessary to study the issues of usefulness of labor and social guarantees of precarious employees, the techniques of assessing the efficiency of this form of employment. The authors describe the developed methodology of assessing the effectiveness of entering the system of precarious labor by a candidate to a work position. The authors propose making this assessment through the calculation of social and economic effectiveness of precarious labor. The technique involves systematic indicators by four areas: remuneration, costs, labor intensity and work environment. The systematization, through highlighting the main aspects of labor of attracted professionals, enables to easily manipulate the results of analysis and identify the key issues of unstable forms of employment within a particular undertaking and on a larger scale. The practical significance of the technique is that it enables a candidate to a work position to make an informed decision providing a choice between the opportunities of the precarious labor and potential risks inherent in entering into a sub-standard labor agreement with an employer.
