The article presents the research results of the construction of large-scale water supply lines The Lena River - Lake Tuora-Kyuel and The Lena River - Lake Muru in the riverside group of settlements of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The purpose of the construction is to irrigate the drying up lakes and to supply water to settlements. This is the first major construction investment and innovation megaproject in the rural territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in terms of its technical complexity of facilities, total length of water supply lines and financial expense volume. To improve the economic efficiency of implementing the investment megaproject, it is necessary to build melioration systems to irrigate grass lands and pastures and to water the cultivated crops: cereals, potatoes, vegetables and fodder of perennial grass. Creating an irrigated greenhouse production in the collective farms of the riverside ulus group will be particularly effective. Planting of fish for commercial fishery purpose will be a practical focus of using the irrigable alas lakes. The authors have identified the difficulties and shortcomings in the construction and operation of the large-scale water supply lines and made proposals relating to improvement of socio-economic efficiency of the water project implementation.
