Relevance of the subject is predetermined by importance of applying innovation, in particular economic-mathematical models, for increasing the efficiency of tourist firms' activities. The paper considers a model of formation of state policy for tourism development. There is a necessity of creation of particular economic-mathematical models that would be focused on the problems of management improvement in the industry of tourism. The authors develop a classification of tourism models by structure and applied mathematical apparatus. The authors arrive at the conclusion that the high level of competition in tourist business and economic reforming cause the need of economic-mathematical models developing, considering the peculiarities of tourist markets, and market elements in the functional sector of tourism business.
