In the article the role of small business in social and economic development of the Arkhangelsk region is considered. The number of small enterprises and number of workers is analyzed. Calculation of indicators of dynamics of volume of the loans granted to small business in the Arkhangelsk region by 2006-2012 is given. The directions of financial support of small business at the expense of means of the regional budget are considered. The main problems are revealed and the ways of their decision are defined.
