In the article the approaches to definition of methods of management by quality are considered, author's classification of means and methods of control over quality depending on nature of impact on object of management is offered. The special attention is paid to consideration of essence and possibility of practical application of the functional and cost analysis within improvement of processes in quality management system of higher education institution.
