In the article the main directions of development of tourism at the present stage in Russia and abroad are considered. On the basis of research of tourist preferences need of development of innovative technologies for this sphere is proved. Development of innovative types of tourism will allow Russia to attract additional cash flows, to establish strong international business communications and to strengthen the situation on the world scene
